Hartly, Delaware teens accused of dealing marijuanaTwo teenage brothers from Hartly, Delaware were arrested late Thursday night on drug charges after a routine traffic stop and searches of their car and bedroom.
Delaware State Police spokesman Cpl. Jeff Oldham said Friday that members of the Governor's Task Force stopped a Mercury Cougar about 10:30 p.m. on Del. 11 just north of Hartly. When Delaware officers approached the car they smelled marijuana, Oldham said. Delaware officers then found about 48 grams of marijuana, a digital scale and a glass pipe in the car, according to Oldham.
Delaware officers took the two boys into custody, then went to their home on Arthursville Road, where they obtained permission to search their bedroom. They found an additional 480 grams of marijuana, three digital scales, a .32-caliber revolver and ammunition.
Delaware officers charged Cody A. Teeter, 19, with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, maintaining a dwelling for the distribution of controlled substances, maintaining a vehicle for the distribution of controlled substances, tampering with physical evidence, conspiracy, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana, as well as a traffic violation. He was sent to the Delaware Correctional Center near Smyrna after failing to post $34,300 cash bail, Oldham said.
His 15-year-old brother was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, maintaining a vehicle for the distribution of controlled substances, maintaining a dwelling for the distribution of controlled substances, conspiracy, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and underage consumption of alcohol.
