Runaway teen found in Dover, Delaware motelFour people, including a runaway 17-year-old girl, were arrested at a Dover, Delaware motel where police found drugs and weapons.
Dover, Delaware police spokesman Capt. Ray Taraila said Thursday that a source tipped Delaware officers the girl was at the Budget Inn on U.S. 13. Police set up surveillance of the room and arrested two of the girl's companions when they left.
Delaware officers then entered the room and arrested the runaway girl and another woman.
Delaware police searched the room and found marijuana, prescription pills, drug paraphernalia and a loaded .44-caliber handgun stolen in a 1999 burglary, Taraila said.
Arrested were Darren Hall, 20, of the first block of Colony Drive; Rodney Walker, 24, of the first block of Willis Road; Juanita Bessicks, 19, of the first block of Stevenson Drive; and the 17-year-old.
Hall was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute prescription drugs, possession of a firearm during a felony, receiving a stolen firearm, maintaining a dwelling for the distribution of drugs, having prescription drugs not in their original container, conspiracy and endangering the welfare of a child. He was sent to Delaware Correctional Center near Smyrna in default of a $59,000 secured bail, Taraila said.
Walker was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a dwelling for the distribution of drugs, conspiracy, endangering the welfare of a child and possession of marijuana. He was sent to Delaware Correctional Center in lieu of $2,600 secured bail.
Bessicks was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a dwelling for the distribution of drugs, conspiracy, possession of marijuana and endangering the welfare of a child. She was released on unsecured bail, Taraila said.
The 17-year-old was charged with receiving a stolen firearm and conspiracy. She was sent to the Stevenson House juvenile detention center in Milford, Delaware in lieu of $18,000 secured bail.
